Delete Your Account
Last updated: June 3, 2026
This page explains how to request deletion of your Tripence account (the "App", developed and operated by Tripence) and the personal data associated with it, what is deleted, what may be retained, and for how long. It applies to accounts created through the Tripence mobile app using Google Sign-In.
How to request deletion
You can delete your account using either of the methods below.
Option 1 — From inside the app (recommended, immediate)
- 1 Open the Tripence app and sign in.
- 2 Go to the Profile tab, then open Privacy & Data settings.
- 3 Tap Delete Account and confirm when prompted.
Option 2 — By email
- 1 Send an email to privacy@tripence.com from the email address associated with your Tripence account.
- 2 Use the subject line "Delete my account".
- 3 We verify ownership of the account (typically by confirming the request comes from the account email) and then process the deletion. Verified requests are actioned within a reasonable time, normally within a few business days.
What happens after you request deletion
When you request deletion, your account is immediately scheduled for deletion and a 30-day cancellation (grace) period begins.
- During the 30 days: you can cancel the deletion and restore your account simply by signing back in and choosing Cancel deletion. Your data remains intact during this window.
- After the 30 days: your account and its associated data are permanently and irreversibly deleted from our active systems. This cannot be undone.
What data is deleted, and what is kept
Data that is permanently deleted
When deletion completes, we permanently remove:
- Your account and profile — the email address and account identifier from your Google Sign-In, your display name, and your in-app preferences and settings (currency, notification, and theme settings).
- All of your trips and expenses — including titles, amounts, currencies, categories, dates, locations, business names, and notes.
- All receipt images you uploaded.
- Your consent and privacy records and your subscription/entitlement records held by Tripence.
Data that may be kept, and for how long
- Encrypted backups. After deletion from our active systems, residual copies may persist in encrypted, access-controlled system backups until they expire on their normal rotation — no later than 90 days — after which they are overwritten.
- Records required by law. We may retain a limited set of records where we are legally required to (for example, transaction or tax records related to a purchase) or where necessary to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or enforce our agreements. These are kept only for as long as the applicable law or purpose requires, and are not used for any other purpose.
Important: cancel your subscription separately
If you have a Tripence Pro subscription, deleting your account does not automatically cancel it. Subscriptions are billed by Google Play, not by Tripence, so you must cancel separately to stop being charged: open the Google Play Store → Subscriptions → Tripence → Cancel subscription. We recommend cancelling before you delete your account.
